Penn Johnson
Rhythm Keeper & Nomadic Guide
short short:
Penn Johnson is a songwriter and nomadic guide who helps burnt-out founders, leaders, and creatives come back to their bodies through live music and phone-free, barefoot time in nature.
short:
Penn Johnson is a songwriter and nomadic guide who hasn't stayed anywhere longer than six months in over a decade. After burning out as a gigging folk musician, he walked away from everything, lived in his van, and eventually took a one-way ticket to India for the Maha Kumbh Mela, a pilgrimage that carried him into the Himalayas and on to Central America. Today he guides burnt-out founders, leaders, and creatives through phone-free, barefoot nature immersions, where live music and somatic conversation help them remember who they were before the grind.
long bio:
Penn Johnson is a songwriter and nomadic guide who hasn't stayed anywhere longer than six months in over a decade. His path has wound from the volcanoes of Hawaii to the jungles of Central America, and every place along the way has left songs in him. He's written over 500 original songs, including 83 tracked in three days in a Costa Rica jungle studio, one take each.
After burning out as a gigging folk musician, he walked away from everything and lived in his van for years. then a one-way ticket to India for the Maha Kumbh Mela became a pilgrimage that carried him into the Himalayas, across Southeast Asia, and on to Central America. what he remembered along the way became the foundation of his work.
Now he sits with people who've been carrying too much for too long: founders, leaders, helpers, and artists. through private, phone-free, barefoot nature immersions. He uses live music, somatic conversation, and time on the earth to help them come home to their bodies. it isn't therapy and it isn't coaching. it's older than both.
